This is commonly known as the shortest verse in the Bible: "Jesus wept." (John 11:35 WEB). In the NIV, Job 3:2 is translated as "He said," which would make that the shortest verse in the Bible in the NIV translation. However, the original Hebrew text recorded as Job 3:2 can be more literally translated something like, "And Job spoke, and said."
Longest verse: Esther 8:9
